Time for a once-popular Fiat, from the old days when they made cars that people wanted to buy rather than endless variations of the 500.

Top trivia: despite its appearance, when the 127 was first introduced it wasn’t a hatch. That came the following year for more money. The first image is the two door version (look at the shut lines) .

There’s a reason why they’re all orange. Who knows what it is?

You know if they made a really hot 500x with a manual...I bet it would actually do alright.

Abarth engine turned up to 11, swollen fenders.  Just silly wild.  I think it would put the 500x on people’s radar not just for the hot version but at all.

“ There’s a reason why they’re all orange. Who knows what it is?”

Fact : the orange is not paint but primer. Being Italians, they would all left the plant to go for a drink and pasta and general dolce vita, before the cars had time to reach the final paint booth.

Other fact : I just made that up.

...no. Thats odd. You can get an AWD with a manual in the other 500x (the renegade) so why no here ?

L ack of demand presumably. I can get a manual, a DCT or a conventional automatic. Ju st the one engine choice, a 1.6 diesel.

Try this:

I think a 1.4T tuned to crazy with a 6 speed an manual would be the niche hit Fiat needs to get people in the showroom.

The orange paint had better rust inhibiting qualities?

Thre red cars all faded to orange?

Something with racing?

Beside the diesel, which doesn’t sell well, with 95, 120 or 140 hp output I could get it with multiple gasoline engines. A 1.6 NA (110), 1.4t (140) and 1.4t (170 hp). The latter one only available with AWD and an automatic.
